Exercise 2: Restricted Vocabulary – Initial notes

There is one major challenge with the choice of poems – we have no foxes in Whangarei, so the poems will provide a vocabulary only.

I have identified some major phrases and words:
“I needed”, “the yet to be”, “back far enough”, “fox”, “needed”, “now”, “vixen”, “body”, “come”, “long”, “through”, “way”, “with”.

I have also identified some useful repeated words:
“animal”, “pelt”, “briars”, “forest”, “eyes”, “window”, “human”, “legend”, “past”, “run”, “slide”, “want”, “enough”, “loneliness”, “more”, “most”, “across”, “back”, “through”, “between”, “way”, “near”, “far”, “sudden”, “long”, “dark”.

Already I am getting some ideas based on these lists: the human relationship with bush, the boundary of bush and pasture, the boundary of bush and beach all spring to mind.
